More often than not, it takes a life of struggle to know a life of one. With this knowledge that a fellow human is suffering comes understanding and compassion towards them. It is rare that people can truly find empathy towards the less fortunate without necessarily having been through similar distress in life. Ahmad and Mustafa are two people that fall in this rare category of people who use their success and fame to identify real people who need help and provide actual aid to them.

Having been raised in the USA from birth by immigrant parents, they did not go through the suffering that their brethren in their home country still undergo. However, with their parents’ teaching, Islam’s guidance and an innate desire to help people has made the dashing duo who they are today – a part of the next gen philanthropists.

The latest endeavour in their work on their lifelong passion – social activism with a focus on the Muslim populations around the world – has taken them to Yemen.

Currently facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, Yemen’s citizens including a whopping 12 million children are suffering from a lack of food, water, medicines, vaccines and education. The brutal war that has been tearing the country apart is nowhere close to an end. And the appalling numbers reflect the dire situation. Millions of families are homeless and on the brink of starvation. It is estimated that every 10 minutes a child under the age of 5 dies from preventable causes due to lack of access to medical facilities.

It thus is no surprise that COVID-19 is making a situation a lot worse. On one hand, the health of the nation is taking an additional hit, and in the other, lockdown is making access to food and other needs for sustenance even more difficult.

As their contribution towards helping Yemen, and to address an ancillary happening of reaching a hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube, Ahmad and Mustafa have joined hands with Humanity for Relief and Development via their successful project Mercy Bakery, an organization well known and reputed for its food charity in Yemen, to donate one hundred thousand loaves of bread to the people of Yemen. Besides the charity aspect of their act, they hope to bring awareness to their thousands of fans all over the world and raise support to help the people of Yemen.

Here is the video of the donation event available on their channel that goes by the name Mustafa Hussain which is filled with videos of giving and spreading joy to those who need it.

If you are moved by the work of Mustafa and Ahmad, and want to do your part in helping the ailing populus of war-torn Yemen, you can help right now by donating to Mercy Bakery.
